Federal / Training Facilities

Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC)

Charleston, SC

Conversion of two FLETC buildings into office space and training facilities for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Building #46 is a 5,900-SF, three-story building renovated for USCIS staff offices, conference room, IT/telecommunications space, reception, break room, and restrooms. Building #61 is a 12,000-SF, three-story building reconfigured for training classrooms, assembly and office space, conference room, IT closets, and restrooms.

CEA provided fire protection, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical engineering services.

Federal / Office Renovation

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs — IT and Business Offices

Montague Avenue, North Charleston, SC

Design modifications to an existing warehouse-style building consisting of approximately 16,000 SF of conditioned office space and 8,000 SF of ventilated warehouse space. The facility is utilized as IT and Business Offices for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

The project included complete renovation of the existing building with new mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and plumbing systems throughout.

Federal / Energy & Infrastructure

Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC), Joint Base Charleston

Joint Base Charleston, SC

Mechanical and electrical design engineering services for multiple buildings at the NIWC ESPC Project at Joint Base Charleston. Scope included boiler replacement, chiller replacement, single-zone CAV to VAV AHU upgrades, variable frequency drives and VAV conversions, packaged and split-system HVAC replacements, and data center upgrades.

CEA supported multiple ECM scopes across engineering support, annex, and data center buildings.

Project work included updating CAD drawings for mechanical, electrical, and architectural disciplines to meet Shaw Air Force Base CAD standards and comments for Building 1601.

Complete renovation and upgrade to an existing U.S. Immigration Services Center building. The project included demolition of approximately 6,000 SF of the existing metal building, gutting and renovation of the remaining 16,800-SF building, a new façade, and approximately 1,600 SF of new porch space. The building is used as General Services Administration space.

Engineering services included plumbing and mechanical engineering design, including the construction administration phase.

Perez Fitness Center and Coleman Gym project experience.

CEA provided load and energy analyses, prepared 100% mechanical construction documents, and signed and sealed drawings.
